Preparations are well under way in St Patrick’s Church and grounds to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi and the long running tradition of the Procession on Sunday 2nd June after 12 noon Mass. Grass is cut and bunting is being erected and hopefully the sun will shine while our parishioners walk and pray with Jesus on this very special feast day in the Church year.

In recent weeks we have invited parishioners to become Ministers of Eucharist. Training was provided by the Faith Development office and our new Ministers of Eucharist are now ready and on a rota to help administer Holy Communion to our parishioners. On Saturday June 1st @ 6.00pm Mass a commissioning ceremony for Ministers of Eucharist will take place. We think it is the perfect opportunity to celebrate this extraordinary ministry on the Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.

As part of the training all of our ministers watched a short video on the Holy Mass. This beautifully created video shows us what happens during the consecration – the part we believe yet cannot see. We invite you to take the time to watch this lovely 7 minute video.

We pray God’s blessings on our New Extraordinary Ministers of Eucharist and all who volunteer their help in our parish.
