Lord, as the schools close and take a well-earned break for the summer months we give you thanks for a successful academic year in our parish. We pray for all the children who have received the sacraments of Confession, Holy Communion and Confirmation this year and for all students who anxiously await exam results and college placing’s. We think of all our parishioners and pray God’s blessing on them.

“Long warm days, the pace of life slowing, Lord, help me to rest a while in the cooling shade of your presence. Slow down my restless heart and fill me with your gentle compassion for all your people. May you walk with me God this summer in whatever I do and wherever I go. Walking with God means walking with honesty and with courage, walking with love and respect and concern for the feelings of others. May I talk with you God this summer and every day and in every situation. Talking with God is to pray words of praise for the beauty of creation, saying prayers of thanks for friends and good times, for sunny days and rain showers, for our health and for gatherings, and for better days to come. Lord, let this summer be a time for us to reflect on the year gone and to look with hope to the future knowing you are always with us. As the sunshine brightens a dull day let us take time God to allow this summer break to renew our faith and brighten the dark corners. Fill us lord with your peace and love. Amen”
